FBW: Interview with Amy from Accidental Musings

FBW stands for Featured Blogger of the Week. Each week we will feature one of our calendar ladies or gentleman. Mondays will be a post written by the FBW and Wednesdays will be an interview of the FBW. If you want to know how you can be a part of the Blogger Body Calendar project, please click here.

1) Why did you decide to join the Blogger Body Calendar project?

Well, I created it, so if I wasn’t a part of it, that would be weird.

2) What do you believe is the single biggest factor causing poor body image?

Ever, notice that fashion designers are men? And that the perfect model body is similar to that of a 14 year old boy? Those two things. Real women need to design clothes.

3) What would other people say about your blog? (oh no. i’ve already gotten bored of your opinion. well, you can answer a different question if you want.)

eople would say WOW, you are SOOOOO GOOD, Let me give you lots of cash for your awesome writing. At least I hope that’s what they would say.

4) Describe your calendar photo in 140 characters or less.

Hope. Hope I can find a photographer, hope I can find a locations. Pure hope.

5) Do you consider yourself successful at blogging? Why or why not?

I would like to think so. I have been blogging less than year but have already accomplished some great things with my blog and my internet presence. But I have a long way to go before I think I am truly successful at this whole blogging thing.

6) There are a lot of trends in the blogosphere right now, do you think that ninjas, unicorns, and zombies will soon be replaced by tai chi, Big Foot, and people who crave chicken (instead of brains)?

I think zombies are pretty timeless so I look for those to keep coming back. The ninja trend will sneak back up on you when you least expect it, and the unicorn trend is one big myth. The next big thing is whatever shiny thing captures my attent…….

Amy is Ms. September and the creative force behind the humor blog Accidental Musings.  When she’s not ranting, she’s a professional blogger, owner of the startup Social Pollen, and the creative force behind the Blogger Body Calendar. She live in Maryland with her two children, three cats, and black lab Oreo.  She calls herself the Queen Of Inappropriate, Princess of Randomness, and the Duchess of the Non-Sequitur. Trust me, once you meet her (look at here event page here) you’ll understand why that tag line suits her to a tee.

About BBC2012

This year’s theme is: Survivor and Strength.

To me, above all, women are survivors. They survive domestic abuse, physical, sexual, and mental abuse, and the abuse we sometimes do to ourselves (eating disorders, cutting, etc.). Women survive, and do so beautifully.

This year our participants will show off that survivor strength, not because they are all survivors, but because they all are supporters of every woman who has had to struggle against the violence. All proceeds will go Violence UnSilenced.
