FBW: Interview with Tanis of Attack of the Redneck Mommy
FBW stands for Featured Blogger of the Week. Each week we will feature one of our calendar ladies or gentleman. Mondays will be a post written by the FBW and Wednesdays will be an interview of the FBW. If you want to know how you can be a part of the Blogger Body Calendar project, please click here.1) Why did you decide to join the Blogger Body Calendar project?
I decided to join the Blogger Body Calendar project because Mary McCarthy nagged me until my ears started to bleed and it was the only way to stop the pain. I may have also decided to participate because I have a 14 year old daughter, a soon-to-be 13 year old son and more teenaged nieces and nephews than I can shake a stick at and I firmly believe the best way to set an example is to be that example. Promoting a healthy body image is important to me because it affects the children I love.
Also, it was a complete bonus that by participating in this project that I have annoyed and embarrassed some of my more uptight relatives and in-laws. Nothing says love like sending a calendar of your naked arse to your family for their Christmas present.
2) What do you believe is the single biggest factor causing poor body image?
I freely blame the American media. It’s all America’s fault. But then again, as a Canadian (viva the Beaver!) everything seems to be America’s fault so don’t mind me.
3) What would other people say about your blog? (oh no. i’ve already gotten bored of your opinion. well, you can answer a different question if you want.)
Well, it would depend on which other people you ask. The majority of readers seem befuddled that Canada has rednecks and that this redneck knows how to spell.
Marketers and public relations people think my blog is too controversial and feral for public consumption but my children think the blog is awesome. Of course, my children are also controversial and feral so that may negate their opinion some what.
4) Describe your calendar photo in 140 characters or less.
It’s not all dead kids and dildos.
5) Do you consider yourself successful at blogging? Why or why not?
I will not consider myself fully successful at blogging until one of my blog posts lands me in the clink. That’s the true mark of success. Ask Lindsay Lohen. She’ll tell ya.
6) There are a lot of trends in the blogosphere right now, do you think that ninjas, unicorns, and zombies will soon be replaced by tai chi, Big Foot, and people who crave chicken (instead of brains)?
Screw ninjas, unicorns and zombies. It’s my personal goal to convince the Internet that Nickelback is cool and Billy Ray Cyrus really is a genius.
Tanis is our Ms. August. When not posing nude, she spends her time writing the blog Attack of the Redneck Mommy and tweeting inappropriately about her boob whiskers.
