What Body Image Means to Tanis of Attack of the Redneck Mommy

I took this shortly after my son passed away. I needed to see myself as a woman, not a grieving mother. Also, it didn’t hurt that my husband had just started working away from home and I wanted to remind him of what he was missing when he wasn’t here. Wink.

Tanis is our Ms. August.  When not posing nude, she spends her time writing the blog Attack of the Redneck Mommy and tweeting inappropriately about her boob whiskers.

  • Beautiful! I love that you were able to find yourself in the midst of your grief and make the most of it.

  • Love that look on your face so “Yeah, I’m fucking naked, what of it?”

  • Truly beautiful!! I am the Mom of a teen with self image issues. Its been hell for her. Hell for us that have to see her go through this. I am reading your blogs and laughing. That helps. I have been looking for blogs that deal with teens and mental health issues. I cannot find one. I will keep looking. Any help would be great!!

About BBC2012

This year’s theme is: Survivor and Strength.

To me, above all, women are survivors. They survive domestic abuse, physical, sexual, and mental abuse, and the abuse we sometimes do to ourselves (eating disorders, cutting, etc.). Women survive, and do so beautifully.

This year our participants will show off that survivor strength, not because they are all survivors, but because they all are supporters of every woman who has had to struggle against the violence. All proceeds will go Violence UnSilenced.
