FBW: Interview with Meredith from Bueno Baby (Ms. February)

FBW stands for Featured Blogger of the Week. Each week we will feature one of our calendar ladies. Mondays will be a post written by the FBW and Wednesdays will be an interview of the FBW. If you want to know how you can be a part of the Blogger Body Calendar project, please click here.

Why did you decide to join the Blogger Body Calendar project?

Because the epidemic of violence against women is crap! Not specific enough? How about violence against women is super crap. I think we’ve become desensitized and overwhelmed by the problem, but we have to keep reminding each other: violence against women is crap.

What do you think a strong woman looks like?

Like this:

We use to see these women working on the beach when we lived in Mexico. They’d walk up and down the hot sand all day carrying loads of clothes on their backs to sell to tourists. Occasionally, one of them would be carrying a child on their backs as well. Seriously, I get frustrated when my computer is running slowly, bogging down my work flow. I don’t know how these women do it.

Describe your calendar photo in 140 characters or less.

It’s a surprise! Trust me, no one will be as surprised as me. I can’t think of a thing! Don’t worry Blogger Body Calendar, it’s cool. I’ll think of something. Probably.

Meredith Groenevelt is the voice behind BuenoBaby; a humorous, candid, raw look at a life, a marriage and a mommy-hood. Along, with publishing her blog, she also freelances as a web designer. Occasionally she spends time on Twitter, and by occasionally, I mean she’s legally changing her name to @BuenoBabyGirl.

Today she lives in Wisconsin with her husband and their three daughters. She thinks she might have a cat.

About BBC2012

This year’s theme is: Survivor and Strength.

To me, above all, women are survivors. They survive domestic abuse, physical, sexual, and mental abuse, and the abuse we sometimes do to ourselves (eating disorders, cutting, etc.). Women survive, and do so beautifully.

This year our participants will show off that survivor strength, not because they are all survivors, but because they all are supporters of every woman who has had to struggle against the violence. All proceeds will go Violence UnSilenced.
