Ready? Set….

By amydpp  //  General  //  1 Comment

This week we started the 2012 calendar. On Monday we told you our charity was, on Wednesday we told you who was in the calendar. Today, I want to say one last thank you to all of those who participated in 2011′s calendar. And I’m going to do that in a unique way. I had the privilege of watching about a dozen people flip through the calendar the first time they got to see it. The responses were remarkable similar. Here they are;

January (Guilty Squid)- Oooooohhh, nice.

February (Creative Spayce) – Oh my God! Are all those flowers real? (My answer: No)

March (Medicinal Marzipan) - Beautiful…is she really on a beach (yes)

April (My Bottle’s Up) – Pretttty

May (Parenting By Dummies)- Wow! Hot!

June (Toy with Me!)- Oh my goodness! Is that a real horse? (yes) Is that her real hair (no). That is so awesome.

July (Outnumbered)- Ha! Oh, I see…that’s kinda cool. He’s hot. (yes, he is)

August (Attack of the Redneck Mommy)- ooooooooohhhhhhh, that one is so pretty

September (Accidental Musings)- That is a great photo of you, where did you take that?

October (Pajamas and Coffee) – {laughter} that is a great photo, who took it? Did she take it in a real cemetery? (yes)

November (Late Enough)- Stunning, she’s so pretty.

December (The Bloggess)- Who’s that? (the bloggess) Are those tattoos? (no) Interesting. Cool.

And this year? I’ve gotten to see some the themes that people are doing this year, and I cannot wait. You are going to love them!

We are doing our donation ceremony with NEDA on April 6th. We raised $500.00 last year for them. Not bad for a first swing. This year, I am reaching for $1500.00 for Violence UnSilenced. And I know we can make it happen.

Next week we start our bloggers posts. First up is Alli from Alli-n-Son, our own January.

{{Side Note: We will have an update on our misprinted May page very soon.}}

About BBC2012

This year’s theme is: Survivor and Strength.

To me, above all, women are survivors. They survive domestic abuse, physical, sexual, and mental abuse, and the abuse we sometimes do to ourselves (eating disorders, cutting, etc.). Women survive, and do so beautifully.

This year our participants will show off that survivor strength, not because they are all survivors, but because they all are supporters of every woman who has had to struggle against the violence. All proceeds will go Violence UnSilenced.
