Michele McGrawMichele McGraw, ScrappinMichele, is a 43-year-old work-at-home mother of four children (2 girls, 7 and 12, 2 boys, 8 and 15). She met her husband, Jason on AOL 18 years ago in the Romance Connection room and they have now been married for 17 years and live in the Northern Virginia area.

For the last 14+ years, Michele has been connecting women online in support of their hobbies and healthy lifestyles. Michele is CEO of Mom Geek Media and creator of Scraps of My Geek Life, a blog offering daily commentary, advice, reviews and shared experiences of how her real life and the digital domain connect. Her latest adventure is a blog dedicated to the Project 365 Geeks out there. She is the Gadget Editor at Mom Blog Magazine, Tech and Digital Scrapbooking Editorialista at MyBlogalicious and Tech and Gadget Editor at The DC Moms and can be found blogging at Yahoo! Shine, Technorati and the BlogWorld Expo blog.

After discovering she does love running (by being asked to participate in a 5k as a school fundraiser), Michele is now training to run her first half-marathon in September. When she has a few spare moments, she loves digital scrapbooking, researching anything, reading magazines, playing games on Wii, Kinect and DS and hanging out with her family at the beach (where she finds peace.)

About BBC2012

This year’s theme is: Survivor and Strength.

To me, above all, women are survivors. They survive domestic abuse, physical, sexual, and mental abuse, and the abuse we sometimes do to ourselves (eating disorders, cutting, etc.). Women survive, and do so beautifully.

This year our participants will show off that survivor strength, not because they are all survivors, but because they all are supporters of every woman who has had to struggle against the violence. All proceeds will go Violence UnSilenced.
